Routing policy
How we decide which brokerage handles your purchase, how we’re paid for it and what you can always ask of us.
01What routing means
Acquire Aero helps you work out which aircraft suit how you fly and what each costs to own, and then helps you buy one. When you’re ready to buy, a brokerage finds the aircraft, negotiates the price and closes the purchase. Usually that is us, through our in-house brokerage; sometimes it is one of our partner brokerages. Routing is how we decide which.
02Who handles your purchase
Acquire Aero is a brokerage as well as an advisory service. Our in-house brokerage is part of Acquire Aero, not a separate company, so when we handle your purchase you deal with Acquire Aero from the first comparison to closing.
We also work with a small number of partner brokerages, which are independent companies. We route your purchase to one of them when it is better placed for that aircraft or market than we are.
Because we earn more when we handle a purchase ourselves, we say so here, so you can weigh our recommendation with that in mind. The rest of this policy sets out how we keep the choice about what is best for you.
03How the choice is made
We make the choice ourselves, for each enquiry, on what is best for your purchase:
- The aircraft: which brokerage knows that model and its owners, operators and maintenance history best.
- The market: where the aircraft you want is likely to be found, and where it will be based and registered.
- Access: which brokerage is best placed to find the right example, including aircraft that aren’t publicly listed.
- Your preferences: how you like to work, your timing, and any brokerage you’ve told us you’d prefer to use or avoid.
How much a brokerage pays us is not part of the decision.
04How we’re paid
Our search, comparison and enquiry services are free for buyers. We’re paid from the brokerage commission when a purchase completes: when we handle it ourselves, the commission is ours; when a partner does, we’re paid from that partner’s commission. If no purchase goes ahead, we aren’t paid.
Ask us at any time how we’ll be paid on your purchase and we’ll tell you.
05Before you’re introduced
If we handle your purchase ourselves, your details stay with us. If we recommend a partner brokerage, we tell you which one and why before we pass on anything, introduce you only with your agreement, and share only what it needs to help you: your requirements, the aircraft you’re considering and how to reach you. Our privacy policy covers how we handle your information.
06During the purchase
We stay your point of contact throughout, from the first comparison to closing, so you aren’t handed over and left to start again. Whichever brokerage handles your purchase, you’ll see its terms and can review them before you commit to anything.
07Your choices
- You can decline our recommendation, or ask for a different brokerage, at any point.
- You can ask us why we recommended a brokerage.
- You don’t have to buy through anyone we introduce you to.
08Changes to this policy
If we change how routing works, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. An introduction already made follows the policy that applied when you agreed to it.
09Questions
If you’d like to talk any of this through, send us a message through the enquiry form. We will reply personally.
